"The Islamic Dilemma" is a prominent internal critique and apologetic argument used by modern Christian scholars and apologists (such as David Wood, James White, and Nabeel Qureshi) when engaging in theological conversations with Muslims.
The core objective of the argument is to demonstrate a logical contradiction within Islamic scripture itself regarding the reliability and authority of the Bible (specifically the Torah and the Gospel/Injeel).
In short, the Quran explicitly commands Christians and Jews during the 7th century to judge by, obey, and stand upon their existing scriptures. However, the historical Christian scriptures (which were already established and widespread centuries prior to the 7th century) directly contradict Islamic theology on core doctrines—such as the Divine Sonship, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
